Welcome!

Welcome to the daily online home of the Indiana Sportswriters & Sportscasters Association. This will be a home for us to let you know of upcoming events, ideas and more.

We also want this to be a forum for Indiana sports media to discuss and learn. We'll have some fun and more.

The ISSA wrapped up another tremendous Hall of Fame event on Saturday night. Five outstanding journalists -- Dick Denny, Bob Lovell, Joe McConnell, Dean Pantazi and Phil Richards comprised the ISSA's 16th Hall of Fame class. Ted Throckmorton (Distinguished Service Award), Bill Beck (Corky Lamm Sportswriter of the Year), Myron Rainey (Marv Bates Sportscaster of the Year) and Jason Wille (Bob Williams Helping Hand Award) were also all honored. We had nearly 175 in attendance at the Wyndham Hotel. We're already making plans for next year.

I want to use this space to publicly thank the people who make this possible. Lynn Houser goes to great lengths to make sure the ISSA banquet happens each year. He does a tremendous amount of the planning. Fred Inniger does a tremendous job as group secretary and treasurer. Pat McKee and Ron Lemasters were the "faces at the door," as well as Tonya Condry, helping check everyone in. Charlie Jenkins is the longtime emcee of our banquet, and does a tremendous job each year. Rex Kirts coordinates the awards. Paul Condry and Tom Kubat provide a lot of input, and they all serve to make the ISSA operate. We are excited about being able to announce our 2012 banquet and class, but in the meantime, we will have some good stuff here. We expect this to be a point of contact for our Hall of Famers and members to interact with you.

Thanks for stopping by.
